DXF Viewer screenshot: moving a model

Below you see two screenshots of the stand-alone version of the viewer. Both have the Swap Black&White switch from the Options menu set. The first one shows a rotated view of a chair, the second one shows the same while rotating.

Notes

  1. Looking at the title you can see that a file packed with gzip is shown. This has decreased the file's size from 175938 to unbelievable 16214 bytes (more than ten times!). Loading took about 3 seconds on my P133 using Linux and the fine JIT tya.
  2. The model is consisting of 3700 lines.
  3. The view of the model is reduced while moving. This behaviour is set with the choice button in the upper right. The complete model, a reduced version or a bounding box can be shown while moving. This model can be moved complete on my P133 with about 4 redraws a second. In reduced mode you get an instant response.
  4. The circle in the second picture is shown while rotating the model by dragging it with the left mouse button. It is used to show you a virtual trackball. Dragging in the circle gives you a similar control as dragging a trackball of the given size. Dragging outside allows you to rotate the model around the view axis. After getting used to it this gives a superb control over the view position.
  5. The coordinate system in the lower left corner gives a hint of the models orientation. It can be switched off or moved to other corners with the Options menu.
  6. The list on the lower right shows the layers of the model and allows to toggle their visibility.
  7. The View: buttons allow you to step to the views where you stopped or to reset the view to some special axis.
